HISTORY
Palmero is a farm that has been owned by our family since the early 20th century. However, it was only in the last few years that the new Agriturismo was opened, transforming the old farm into a cozy and fine establishment where the guests can find peace and relax, in a truly Mediterranean setting.
At the beginning of the last century, the owner’s -great-grandfather Ignazio, built almost all of the terraces, which are still used today to cultivate all sorts of vegetables and fruits. After him, Grandpa Marcello and Uncle Nanin started farming. They kept cows, donkeys, hens, rabbits and ducks.
Once the farm was closed, Mum Francesca, dedicated herself to growing vegetables and fruits. Meanwhile, Dad Gino dedicated himself to his biggest passion: beekeeping.
Marcella, the current owner of the farm and of Agriturismo Palmero, had decided to combine her passion for nature and her love for hospitality, sharing the beauty of this place with everyone.
This is how Agriturismo Palmero was born: a little ”villaggio” surrounded by the typical Mediterranean plant life, replaced the old barns and farmhouse, also becoming a new home for Marcella and her family.
Thanks to a renovation, using local materials, a new and elegant tourist accommodation has come to life, allowing us to provide the most pleasant holiday experience to our guests.
BREAKFAST
Between 8:30-and 11:30, you can taste the rich, and delicious breakfast prepared by the owner herself, Marcella, in a bright, large room or in the front garden with a sea view.
Her passion for cooking and the use of the Agriturismo’s own products makes breakfasts at Agriturismo Palmero a unique experience.
Every morning there is always something different to try at the buffet.
From sweet to salty, from the tomato sauce on pizza to the oil on the focaccia, from the fresh eggs laid daily by our hens to the homemade jams, from the freshly baked cakes to the honey Grandpa Gino harvested, from the fruit juice to the fresh fruits; everything is ”fatto a mano”(hand-made), made with love and passion in Agriturismo Palmero.
Every guest is special to us, so we want to meet everyone’s needs.
Please communicate allergies or food preferences, and Marcella will be very happy to make you a cake or something that you can enjoy.
AZIENDA AGRICOLA
Agriturismo Palmero is within 27,000 square meters of farm land. The nature of the Ligurian soil, with its very steep hills that end on the coastline, has historically required the use of terraces to be able to farm. These make it impossible to use farm machinery, and most of our work is done by hand, like in the past.
To give you a 360° experience of our land, we offer to all our guests to take part in our activities. From the harvesting of olives in winter to beekeeping and honey extraction in the spring, from the fruit harvest in summer to the ”Vendemmia” – the day of grape harvesting – typically in the first part of September, you are always welcome to come visit us and take part in the traditional activities of this region.
